Hello makers,
Serial Maker is a newsletter for people who can’t stop making things. Design, code, art, business, and what building it all teaches me.
I’m Craig. I run Six Overground, a design and development studio, and I’ve never been able to stick to just the day job. Over the years I’ve shipped software products like Link My Photos, ShinyTimer, and Briefshot, made long-form generative art, open sourced my tools, and started more side projects than I’ve finished. This newsletter is where I write about all of it: the wins, the misses, the half-finished experiments, and what the work keeps teaching me.
I started Serial Maker in 2019 and wrote it every week for over a year before burning out. Five years later, I’m back, and the whole original archive is here. Some of it aged in ways I didn’t see coming. Make sure to subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and all the archives.
What to expect
I’ll be sending roughly one issue a month. More when I have more to say, sometimes a skipped month when I don’t. Keeping this fun is the whole point.
Please say hello. Reply to any issue and tell me what you’re making. I read everything, and I’m always looking for makers to feature. There’s also a Discord where the conversation continues between issues.
Keep making and thanks for reading,
Craig 👋
